HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Hastings High School lacrosse coach Drew Wendol will be quite busy this summer as he hosts lacrosse camps and coaches travel teams.

Wendol and Gargoyle Athletics will run boys’ and girls’ lacrosse camps in July and August at the upper fields at Burke Estate. The organization will host camps for two weeks in July – the first from July 9-12, and the second from July 16-19. Each session will last from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rates are $225 per week or $60 per day for Hastings residents and $250 per week and $65 per day for non-residents. A two-week special is available for $400 for residents and $450 for non-residents. Siblings receive a $20 discount at the camp. Participants will need lacrosse sticks and equipment.

The first week of sessions in August will be held Aug. 6-9; the second week is Aug. 13-16. These sessions will last from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The price for Hastings residents is $350 for the week or $90 for the day. Non-residents pay $375 per week or $95 per day. The two-week special fee is $650 for residents and $700 for non-residents. Siblings receive a $25 discount.

Participants will need lacrosse sticks and equipment, along with a bathing suit and towel – the full-day camp includes swimming.

The boys’ travel team for students in seventh to 11th grade will play from the week of June 18 to July 27; they will play one game per week, Monday to Thursday at either 6 p.m. or 7 p.m., for a total of five games. The team is scheduled to play in the L.I. Lax Fest on June 23and 24, and at the Bulldog Bash on Sunday, July 15.

The girls’ travel team for 11th grade and younger begins playing the week of June 18. The team will play a total of five games, with one game per week, held Monday through Thursday at either 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School in Croton.

The team is scheduled to play at the L.I. Lax Fest in Farmingdale, N.Y. on Sunday, July 15 and at the Landsharks Summer Classic on Saturday, July 21 in Garden City, N.Y.

Each team charges a $650 tournament team fee that covers entry to the respective tournaments, as well as a place at both weeks of the July summer camps. Those paying this fee will also receive Gargoyle Athletics apparel and help with college recruiting.
