Owner, Director, & Coach Drew Wendol

With over 25+ years coaching & playing experience, Coach Wendol recently resigned as the Head Men’s Lacrosse Team at the College of Mount Saint Vincent (2015-2017) to enhance his Gargoyle Athletics program by running Boys & Girls tournaments and clinics at The Westchester Turf & Tennis Club in Hawthorne, NY; The Sports KingDome in Fishkill, NY; The Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY; and The NYA Sports Facility in Newtown, CT.  He is currently a Physical Education Teacher at Hudson-onHudson UFSD (Westchester, NY).  Besides being a Physical Education Teacher, he also served six years as the Athletic Director (2002-08), coached the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach for 10 years (2005-2014 & 2018) (started/coached the program in 2003 as first Modified Team and 2004 as first JV team),  He has also coached Varsity Lacrosse at Bronxville H.S. (1997-2000), was the Future Stars Camps Lacrosse Director (2005-07), coached the Renegades 17U Elite Lacrosse Tournament Team (2008), served on the Empire State Boys Lacrosse Selection Committee (1998-2001, 2008), and has run numerous clinics & camps throughout the Westchester, Putnam, and Orange County area.

As a standout collegiate player at Cortland College (1990-1994), he finished 4th on the all-time goal scoring list and 14th on the all-time points scoring list. Coach Wendol continues to play competitively, winning Gold Medals at the 2014 (Denver) & 2018 (Israel) World Games in the SuperMasters 40+ Division.  He has also been honored with tryouts for the 2006 Men’s World Outdoor, 2007 Men’s Indoor United States World, & Long Island Lizards Professional Lacrosse Teams. Drew is proud to have represented USA and Casey Powell’s World Lacrosse Foundation in the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championship and is excited to enhance his contribution in the World Lacrosse Foundation to help fellow lacrosse players in need through the game he loves!

Besides Lacrosse, Coach Wendol is also an all-around standout athlete, having played Soccer, Football, Basketball, & Hockey throughout High School and beyond. He also has extensive coaching experience in Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Cheerleading, Volleyball, Cross Country, & Fencing. As the Athletic Director, Drew was the Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Boys Soccer, & Awards Chairperson, as well as a member of the Con Edison “Athlete of the Week” Selection Committee.


Gary Divcio – Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Coach Divcio has over 30+ of lacrosse and coaching experience.  He has been the Head Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach at Sleepy Hollow since 1992.  As a collegiate standout at Eisenhower College,  he played defense for 4 years and was captain for 2 of those years.  After college, he continued his playing club lacrosse for 25 year, winning 2 national championships. He also played summer lacrosse and won numerous championships. Coach Divcio just retired as a  teacher at Greenburgh 11, where he had a very impressive tenure of 34 years.


Michael Bryant – Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Mike is currently the Varsity Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach at South Side H.S. in Rockville Centre, NY.  Coach Bryant is a 2004 graduate from SUNY Cortland, where he was a captain and standout player for the Varsity Lacrosse team. Mike was also the Head Coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent (2015), and has coached the Varsity Football and Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team at South Side HS since 2008.


Cassandra Honovich – Girls Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Casandra is currently the Head Modified Field Hockey and Girls Lacrosse Coach at Rye Neck UFSD.  She also coaches for the Rye Youth Travel Lacrosse Program. As a standout collegiate player at Manhattanville College, Cassandra finished her career as the all-time leader in goals and draw controls. Cassandra graduated with a degree in psychology and was a studio art major.


Ben Parens – Lacrosse Coach/ Face-Off Specialistga_iconlax-tiny

Ben Parens is currently a rising  junior face-off midfielder at Connecticut College where has started for the past two years. Before college he was a stand out midfielder at Sleepy Hollow High School where he was a 3x All- League selection and a 1x All-Section HM selection while also scoring 117 goals. Thus far at Connecticut College Parens is a 2x All-NESCAC selection. This past spring he was awarded First Team All-American honors while  also being awarded USILA’s specialist of the year. He was also the first, All-American in the schools history to receive first team honors.

Danny Manning – Lacrosse Coach/Face-Off Specialistga_iconlax-tiny

Danny Manning is a current standout lacrosse face-off specialist at Saint Josephs University.  He was a two-time New York Section 1 All Section player at Yorktown High School.  He helped Yorktown to three consecutive New York State Section 1 Championships, two New York State Class B semifinals, and the 2013 New York State Class B Finals.

 Brett Miranda – Lacrosse Coachga_iconlax-tiny

Brett Miranda currently is the Assistant Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach at Hastings High School.  A standout midfielder for the D1 Manhattan College Jaspers. Playing in 41 games, he has tallied 12 goals, 2 assists, and 27 groundballs. He was selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team twice. Before College, he was a standout four year varsity Attackmen and two-time captain at Ossining High School. He was named All-Section twice, led New York State Section I in both goals and points as a senior and ranks fourth all-time in Section I with 325 career points. Besides lacrosse, Brett earned All-State, All-Section, and All-League honors, as well as awarded the National Football Foundation Golden Dozen Award, in football and played Varsity Ice Hockey for five years. He was named to the Journal News All-Star team in all three sports. All while being a Member of the National Honor Society.


 Dean Rossi – Lacrosse Coach & Speed, Agility, & Quickness Instructorga_iconlax-tiny

Coach Rossi graduated with a Physical Education degree from Salisbury State University, where he was a standout varsity lacrosse player. He earned 1st Team All CAC Conference, 1st Team All American, & Short Stick Specialist Player of the Year Awards. As a team Captain, he won 4 Conference Championships and 3 National Championships. He also was recognized by the City of Salisbury for Outstanding Achievement, and had an award named after him, called the Dean Rossi Award, which will be given out to an outstanding player that embodies that same qualities and commitment to lacrosse from 2011 forward.

Natasha Williams – Girls Lacrosse Coachga_iconlax-tiny

Coach Natasha Williams has tremendus lacrosse experience as a player and coach.  She is currently the Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach at New Rochelle High School, where she was named the 2010 Section I Coach of the year.  She has coached at all levels at camps and Travel teams.  As a standout collegiate lacrosse player at LIU C.W.Post, she was a 2001 D2 national Champion and semi-Fimalist each of her remaining years at CW Post.  Natasha played midfield on the Long Island lady Lizards, which is the Women’s version of the MLL Long Island Lizards Pro Team, where she was a standout player and captain of the team.   Currently, she plays for Team Lacrosse Unlimited Travel Team.


Ana Alilovic – Girls Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Ana Alilovic has over 10 years of lacrosse experience.  She was a standout Three Year Varsity Defensive Player for Hastings Yellow Jackets Lacrosse Team (2008-2010). Ana has been working year round lacrosse camps and clinics for over 6 years and is currently the Hastings 5th & 6th Grade Girls Lacrosse Coach.  She brings a lot of fun and excitement to her teaching/coaching style.


Matt Solomito – Lacrosse Goalie Coach  ga_iconlax-tiny

Matt Solomito currently is a senior standout goalie for the D1 Manhattan College Jaspers.  Matt has earned a starting spot in many games, tallying 58 saves and 12 groundballs.  Before College, he had a standout career between the pipes at Sachem East High School, LI.  His senior year, he earned All-Division and All County honors, as well as the team MVP.  Besides lacrosse, Matt earned the President’s Award for Physical Education and the Coaches Award, was a member of the Sachem East’s Super 7 Championship team , and won four letters in football.


Rachel Vallarelli – Lacrosse Goalie Coach  ga_iconlax-tiny

Rachel Vallarelli is a standout senior goalie for Holy Cross High School. In 2008 freshmen year, she was the 23rd ranked goalie in NY, 90th in USA. In her 2009 sophomore year, she was the 18th ranked goalie in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam County. In her 2010 Junior Season, she earned the Holy Child Varsity Lacrosse Most Improved Award for heart, dedication and love for the game as well as significant improvement in stats throughout varsity career, is 2nd  for most saves in one season (176) and 2nd  for most career saves (333), 5th goalie in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam County (176 saves), Honorable Mention Journal News All Stars, Hudson Valley WDNT, All Star Section 1 Recruiting Showcase, Hudson Valley Empires, U-19 Nationals tryout, Team USA Women’s U-19 National Team, ESPN Rise girls Top 20 on the Rise: Goalies (named number 10), and WomensLax.com and Pro Player Team Camp Long Island: MVP Team Hills 7/27 and 7/28, 2010 Long Island Team Camp All Star Team.

Besides lacrosse, she was also is a midfielder on the Varsity Field Hockey (2008-present), where is was a contributing member of the 2008 NYSAIS Championship team.


 Samantha Stahl – Soccer Coach soccer-tint

Coach Stahl was a 4 year varsity starter for Simsbury High School, Simsbury CT. In her Senior year she was voted as an All-State Player in her class, earning her a scholarship to play at Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. Coach Stahl played for the World Class Soccer Club and the Oakwood Soccer Club in her youth. She also played in the Connecticut Olympic Development program.

Coach Stahl graduated from Manhattan College in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education., Coach Stahl holds a USSF National D license and currently works with the WP Elite 92 and WP Elite 95 Premier teams. Coach Stahl currently is the Head Coach of the Hastings High School Girls Varsity, where she is a Physical Education Teacher.


Amanda Heyde – Field Hockey & Girls Lacrosse ga_iconlax-tiny

Started playing field hockey when I was 10, played in the US Futures program for 6 years. Was a high school all American at Somers high school holding the shut out record at the school with 42 shut outs. A 4 year starter at Hofstra university earned the CAA rookie of the week honor twice.

Went on to coach in the futures program, the goalie coach for East End Field hockey team and coached the Hastings varsity lacrosse team.

Jordyn DiCostanzo  – Girls Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Jordyn was a standout varsity starter on the Eastchester girl’s lacrosse team for five years and a three year captain. She was team MVP (2014 & 2015), earned All League and All Section honors, & has been a 5 year Scholar Athlete.  For the 2015 season, Jordyn totaled 56 goals and 26 assists, picked up 27 ground balls, had 14 interceptions and won over 70% of draw controls taken. As a sophomore, Jordyn scored her 100th goal, and in her senior year she became the first lacrosse player in EHS history to score 200 goals as well as over 300 career points. Jordyn has committed to play DI Lacrosse at Manhattan College for the 2016 season.

Since Graduating from Yorktown High School, Brian Smith went on to have a standout college career at Salisbury University, where is was named the Attack MVP of the 1999 National Championship Team. Brian is a Physical Education Teacher at Bronx PS. 89 Pre-K-8 School) and is the current Head Varsity Coach at Blind Brook High School. He has also coached at Edgemont High School (2007-2008) and the Somers Sectional Champions (2009-2010)

Thomas Corveddu – Lacrosse Coach ga_iconlax-tiny

Coach Corveddu has 25 years of lacrosse experience. During which, he has put a great deal of time effort into his coaching philosophy and methodology. Fusing his formal education and career in psychology with coaching, Mr. Corveddu is able to bring out the best in his players, teaching skills and adding value to their lacrosse game. He has enjoyed immense success and joy throughout his years both on the field and the sidelines. His greatest coaching achievements are in the life lessons learned by, and the opportunities afforded to the countless lacrosse players under his care. Coach Corveddu’s vast coaching experience includes nine years in local schools (4 as boys’ varsity head coach), and fifteen years coaching camps, clinics and travel teams. Other sports coached include football, basketball and swimming.
